British-Safety-Council-Award-2016

AESSEAL® has won a prestigious Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour from the British Safety Council.

AESSEAL® was one of 14 organisations worldwide which were successful in winning the ‘double’, both the Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour. They are awarded to organisations that have demonstrated excellence in the management of health, safety and environmental risks.

In order to compete for the Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour, an organisation first had to achieve the maximum five stars in the British Safety Council’s health and safety and environmental management audit scheme in the period August 2015 – July 2016. They have also demonstrated to an independent panel of experts that they are excellent in their health and safety and environmental management throughout the business – from the shop floor to the boardroom.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said:

On behalf of the trustees and staff of the British Safety Council, I would like to congratulate those winning organisations and their staff for their huge commitment to keeping their workplaces safe and healthy and minimising risks to the environment from their organisations’ day-to-day activities. All of the Sword and Globe winning organisations share a commitment and resolve to achieving the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management. We are delighted that they are partners in helping achieve our vision that no one should be injured or made ill at work.

About the awards

The 2016 awards mark the 37th consecutive year that the British Safety Council has awarded the Sword of Honour for health and safety management excellence and the seventh year of awarding the Globe of Honour for excellence in environmental management.

The winners achieved the maximum five stars in the British Safety Council’s independent Five Star health and safety and/or environmental management audits in the period 1 August 2015 – 31 July 2016. They also demonstrated to an independent adjudication panel that they had a proven track record and culture of best practice for excellence in health and safety or environmental management that runs throughout the business, from the shop floor to the boardroom.

The winning organisations will be invited to a luncheon at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London on Friday 25 November to celebrate and share their success. This event will be an enjoyable way to network and share experiences and knowledge about how best to keep workers safe and healthy and to ensure sustainable business practices.
